The archive mixes patents, journal papers, notebooks, correspondence, later interviews, and reports written by associates. They are not all equivalent forms of evidence.

Research
Adjustable illumination for conventional microscopes.
Recorded data
A ventilated, rheostat-controlled lamp mounted below the microscope stage to provide flat, uniform illumination.
Evidence assessment
A verifiable engineering achievement. The patent does not describe a cancer treatment or therapeutic frequency generator.

Filtered B. typhosus cultures

Research
Kendall and Rife examined repeatedly filtered bacterial cultures.
Recorded data
Three filtrations, reported 5,000x observation, eight repeated observations, and uninoculated K Medium controls. Motile turquoise bodies were reported.
Evidence assessment
A genuine preliminary journal communication. The authors inferred that the bodies were filterable bacterial forms; it was not a treatment or cancer study.

Rosenow microscope observations

Research
Filtered typhoid, streptococcal, poliomyelitis, and herpes preparations.
Recorded data
Objects were reported at 8,000x in selected filtrates; a normal rabbit-brain preparation was used as a negative comparison.
Evidence assessment
An independent published observation involving Rife's microscope. It did not test clinical treatment, survival, or healing outcomes.

Research
Tumor material was cultured, filtered, and viewed microscopically.
Recorded data
One surviving rat note records a 60 g lipoma, tissue culture, Berkefeld filtration, and purple-red non-motile granules viewed at a reported 4,000x.
Evidence assessment
Fragmentary notebook evidence. No complete controlled series, blinded pathology review, survival table, or reproducible identification protocol survives.

Research
A later account describes frequency-device treatment of 16 patients.
Recorded data
The often-repeated claim is 14 patients clinically cured after about 70 days and two later.
Evidence assessment
The patient-level records, diagnoses, settings, pathology, response criteria, and follow-up dataset are unavailable. This is not a recoverable clinical study.

Research
Seidel and Winter summarized Rife's microscope and laboratory claims.
Recorded data
The article reports more than 20,000 cultures, 426 inoculated rats, and BX-like particles in 92% of neoplastic cases.
Evidence assessment
These are narrative totals, not a published dataset. The article supplies no animal-level table, control allocation, pathology protocol, or statistical analysis.

Stafford electromagnetic-field report

Research
Rats, one dog, 16 terminal-cancer cases, and 16 dermatology cases.
Recorded data
The retrospective report contains the clearest surviving Rife-associated numerical treatment data, including a small leukemia-rat comparison.
Evidence assessment
Written by Robert Stafford, not Rife. The animal groups were incomplete and the human observations were uncontrolled case reports.

This is historical apparatus documentation, not a treatment protocol. Stafford said the operating theory was presumptive and that the frequencies might be wrong or only nearly correct.

Numerical Record

The leukemia-rat experiment.

The report planned balanced groups but did not achieve them. These descriptive numbers are presented without converting them into an efficacy percentage.

The paucity of data prevented a firm conclusion and further controlled experiments were needed.

Human Case Record

Sixteen terminal malignancies. No reported cure.

Stafford documented temporary pain relief, reduced bleeding, softening of some lesions, or brief functional improvement in selected cases. Several cases showed no appreciable benefit, and the diseases generally progressed.

Rife's patent, instruments, and early microscopy collaborations are part of the historical record. The surviving treatment material does not contain the complete controls, patient records, blinded pathology, standardized outcomes, or independent replication required to verify the 1934 cancer claims.
